In the world of comic books there is a series that DC Comics runs called Elseworlds.
In Elseworlds the characters and their abilities stay the same, but the circumstances, timeline, and/or events in their lives is changed.
For instance in one issue Superman crash landed in Gotham instead of Kansas and he was found by Thomas and Martha Wayne before they had a baby, and was raised as Bruce Wayne who eventually became a super-Batman.
So with this in mind I came up with a few ideas for storylines they could use for future issues.

What If...
1. Bruce Wayne retires as the Batman to become President of the United States
2. Bruce Wayne, while training to become Batman, gets hit by lightning and dowsed by chemicals and gains the speed that Flash would have gotten.
3. Superman, as a baby, lands on Paradise Island
4. Krypton never exploded, therefore Kal-El never comes to Earth,
a. Abin Sur never died on Earth but retired on his home planet,
b. Wonder Woman was never formed,
c. Green Arrow was never marooned on that island,
d. The Martian Manhunter was never pulled to Earth,
e. Batman’s parents were never killed,
f. Aquaman’s mother never reached land,
g. Chemicals and lightning never struck the Flash.
5. The Martian Manhunter marries Wonder Woman.
6. Batman marries Wonder Woman.
7. The lightning/chemical spill turned Barry Allen or Wally West into a Speed Joker and either became Batman’s greatest enemy or Wally West became Barry Allen’s greatest enemy.
8. Dying Martian Manhunter fuses/bonds/melds with Batman.
9. While trying to stop some criminals, a chemical spill gives Batman the elasticity of Plastic Man.
10. Superman had been found and raised by Dr. Fate.
11. Batman studies under Dr. Fate and becomes Fate II.
12. Green Arrow had been chosen by Abin Sur to become the new Green Lantern.
13. Superman had become a movie star.
14. Lois Lane was Batgirl.
15. Superman landed in ancient times and raised by ninjas.
16. Kryptonite-laced chemicals spill on Superman turning him into a Super-Joker.
17. Batgirl fell in love with the Joker.
18. Bruce Wayne, as a boy, became Captain Marvel.
19. After his parents were killed, Bruce Wayne invented and built a suit and became Steel.
20. While on a search for Ra’s Al Ghul, Batman is trapped in a pyramid and is turned into Metamorpho.
21. Superman is raised by Native Americans.
22. Aquaman’s mother is found by an unmarried Thomas Wayne and she gives birth to Aquaman who grows up and as a child watches his parents murdered and becomes an underwater version of Batman.
23. Abin Sur, dying, accidentally goes through a time portal and lands on Mars and bequeaths the ring to J’Onn J’Onnz.
24. Wonder Woman falls in love with Lex Luthor.
25. Steel had been saved from falling by the Green Lantern instead of Superman.
26. Superman came to Earth to conquer and reform the Earth and he did try.
27. Plastic Man had been the first hero Martian Manhunter had befriended and the two of them teamed up and learned from each others shape-shifting abilities.
28. Superman and Batman found a way to cure the Martian Manhunter of his vulnerability to Fire.
29. Steel and Batman came up with bionics to allow Oracle to walk again.
30. It was Batman who was stranded on an Island instead of the Green Arrow.
31. Superman married Lois Lane, Batman married Catwoman, Green Lantern married Jade, Green Arrow II married Huntress, Martian Manhunter married Oracle, Aquaman married Wonder Woman, and Orion married Barda. They had kids. Now tell the story of the next generation.
32. They all had to get real jobs without super powers. Superman is already a news reporter, Martian Manhunter a detective, Batman a rich corporate man, Green Lantern an artist, but what about the Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Arrow, Barda, Plastic Man, or Huntress?
33. Steel had become Green Lantern instead of Kyle Rayner.
34. Guy Gardner had married Ice Maiden and after she died he had to raise their child alone.
35. Superman had found the meteorite in Egypt
36. Superman had become a scientist instead of a reporter.
37. Bruce Wayne decided that fighting crime wasn’t the answer, but controlling it was and therefore became more corrupt than Lex Luthor and even supplanted Lex Luthor as the number one enemy of Superman.
38. While investigating the pyramids, Wonder Woman becomes a female Metamorpho.
39. While on land, Aquaman runs into some thugs at a factory and becomes Plastic Man.
40. Wonder Woman is given the Green Lantern Power Ring.
41. The Flash had been training to be a ninja in ancient times when struck by lightning and chemicals to become the Flash.
42. Superman had gone crazy because of Braniac and Batman shot him with a Kryptonite bullet but instead of hitting him in the shoulder as depicted in the brief strip in the Alex Ross book Mythology, Batman had shot Superman just as Superman twisted to shake Batman off him and the bullet actually went through and into Superman’s heart, killing him.
43. While still training and before becoming Batman, Bruce Wayne is found by Ra’s Al Ghul and marries Talia and takes over the running of the empire. This puts him at odds with the other heroes and therefore they must put a stop to his empire and him.
44. Baby Superman had gone through a dimensional warp and crash landed on Earth in the Marvel Universe.
45. Plastic Man was offered the Green Lantern Power Ring.
46. Plastic Man married Supergirl.
47. Bruce Wayne’s parents were the ones to send their son to another planet because of the destruction of Earth and Bruce Wayne lands on Krypton.
48. Krypto was the only one to survive and land on Earth.
49. Baby Superman lands on Mars and is raised by the Martian Manhunter who avoids being sucked to Earth.
